Under the leadership of Dr. Liu Rong, doctors in China have successfully completed the world's first remote operation using 5G technology. The technique was tested in Fujian Province on a pig and used state-of-the-art technology. Doctor Liu Rong was able to remotely control robot arms via a 5G connection in a hospital 50 kilometers away for removing the liver of a pig in less than ten minutes. Thanks to the 5G technology, the doctor could see a clear real-time picture of the operation and at the same time communicate with his assistants.
